The loss of elasticity can lead to loosening and wrinkling of the facial skin. Sun exposure, weight fluctuations and heredity can all contribute to a loss of skin elasticity. The muscles of the neck may also weaken creating loose skin on the chin or neck.
A facelift firms and tightens the skin of the face and neck all in one step. A face and neck lift will remove extra skin or fat to help achieve a youthful jaw line and neck. Dr. Krueger’s preferred technique is a Mini Lift.
The mini face lift has become more popular recently because many people have become interested in facial rejuvenation procedures with less recovery time than the traditional face lift.
The mini face lift offers a subtle refresh of the neck and lower face by tightening sagging skin. The mini lift offers an alternative for patients who prefer less extensive lifting than a traditional face lift.
Dr. Krueger performs several different types of eyelid surgeries including:
- Lower Eyelid Surgery
- Upper Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty, is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed today. This type of surgery is used to remove fat deposits and loose or excess skin from the eye area. It can eliminate drooping that may form around the upper or lower eyelids.
Aging, heredity and sun damage are all factors that contribute to changes as you grow older. Young people sometimes elect to have this procedure done to eliminate puffiness of the eyes from congenital excess fatty tissue. Full blepharoplasty, which entails removing the excess fat and tissue surrounding both the upper and lower eye, is sometimes performed to achieve a larger, more prominent eye opening.
Forehead or Brow Lift
Deep creases or frown lines can make a person look angry, sad, old or tired. A forehead lift can help correct drooping brows and diminish creases and lines that have developed from stress or overactive muscles through the years. This procedure can help achieve a more lively and refreshed look. The forehead or brow lift surgically alters the muscles and tissues that cause wrinkling and/or drooping in the area above the eyes. A forehead lift is most commonly performed on people 40-60 years old.
- Earlobe Reduction
- Split Earlobe Repair
Ear surgery, often called Otoplasty, is a procedure used to reduce large or protruding ears by setting the ears back closer to the head. The ears may also be molded or shaped by removing excess cartilage. Otoplasty can be performed at any age after the ears have reached their full size, usually around age five or six. Children who have very large ears have a hard time adjusting in social and school settings. Therefore this surgery is commonly performed on children before entering kindergarten.
Earlobe repair is becoming an increasingly popular procedure for persons with oversized holes from piercings or from piercings pulling through. This can usually be accomplished in the office.
